Overview
International Language Institute is part of the Worldwide Organization of International House, London which now has 150 member schools worldwide. We were established in 1975 and now, as a specialized Arabic Language school, are the exclusive Arabic provider in the International House World organization portfolio. Our clients include many prominent universities who send their students on study abroad programs, diplomatic agencies including training for all members of the New Zealand Embassy Middle East diplomat mission, teaching training for the Ministries of Education in Brunei and Malaysia as well as military contracts with the British Army in Beaconsfield and the American Department of Defense. We provide courses in Arabic for foreigners from beginner to advanced levels, university study abroad programs, tailor-made courses for diplomats, organizations and companies.
Our courses start monthly and we guarantee to offer 9 course levels of both Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA: spoken Arabic) as well as Modern Standard Arabic (MSA: educated reading and writing Arabic), from beginners to advanced levels. With more than 200 full time students monthly from all over the world, we have the capacity to do this. We are currently developing our own course books published by the American University Press.
The ILI Building is well situated with easy access to the city. The ILI Arabic Language Institute has 18 air-conditioned classrooms, the International Language Bookshop, the Restaurant, the Student Library and Study Room/ Internet Center. The building has recently been completely refurbished and air-conditioned and offers excellent facilities to the students.

Flats
We advise our students to let us book them in one of the above hotels on their first couple of nights. On their arrival to ILI we help them find or share flats with other ILI students. A search & agency charge of 35 € (Euro) is to be paid to ILI.
The average share of a room is 250 € (Euro) per month
A 2 bedroom flat is 450 - 600 € (Euro) per month
A 3 bedroom flat is 550 - 700 € (Euro) per month
In the high season of June, July and August the rents are usually higher than during the year. You have to be prepared to add another 75 to 100 € (Euro).
These apartments do not belong to ILI. The students will sign a contract with the landlord directly. Usually such contracts include a deposit payment of one month's rent that the owner of the apartment will keep in case of any damage until the last day of your stay.
Please note that these prices are excluding bills (water, electricity, telephone).
The flats shown to the students are fully furnished, including TV, telephone, fridge, stove, washing machine and air condition.
The telephone line can normally be used to connect computers or lab tops.
When checking on flats, we focus especially on functionality, safety and hygiene and get the best & most reasonably priced accommodation. These apartments fulfill local quality standards.
Some flats are in walking distance, others in about 5 to 10 minutes drive from ILI.
The most common way to reach from your apartment to ILI is by taxi as they are available everywhere and the fares are very low.
THE ILI – RESIDENCE
The ILI provides residence to share, for the registered students, as an optional service. The present ILI Residence is located on the fourth & fifth floor of the ILI premises.
Rooms
The ILI Residence has 9 bedrooms (7 single rooms & 2 double rooms/ studio). Each room is equipped with bed, wardrobe, desk & chair, armchair & side tables. The studio has a mini-fridge, more space & an extra storage room.
The Residence fees are: 65 € (Euro) per single room, 75 € (Euro) per double room/ studio per week. A stay at the Residence can only be confirmed for the full course duration. For extras like electricity, water, etc. students will be charged 10 € (Euro) per week.
Rooms will be cleaned twice weekly. Bed sheets will be changed once a week. Two to three bedrooms are sharing one bathroom. Bath & hand towels will be provided.
Living/ Dining rooms & Kitchen
Residents can meet & relax in two comfortable sitting areas, equipped with sofa sets, side tables, cabinets, TV with Satellite connection & telephone (local connection).
The separate dining rooms provide the students with dining tables & chairs, cabinet & sideboard.
The two kitchens are equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, grill, washing machine, pots/ pans & dishes as well as kitchen towels. Washed items can be hanged outdoors on a balcony, also iron board & iron are available. Kitchen, bathrooms & living area will be cleaned three times a week.
Smoking is not allowed in these places in respect to non-smoking residents; instead students can use the balcony.
Security & Assistance
The ILI has its own 24 hours security team, located in the entrance of the building. For any assistance or special requests students are asked to contact our reception team at ILI.
Check in & Check out
Students check in at reception at registration day (first day of their Arabic course). The student's passport needs to be available. The residence fees are to be paid when checking in.
The final re-confirmation of check out day & time are to be confirmed with the ILI reception team about a week prior to the student's departure. The residence keys are to be returned to reception when leaving. In case students check out outside administration hours, security will be advised to receive the residence
