Overview
This Italian language immersion program takes place in Florence, the capital of the beautiful region of Tuscany. Florence offers visitors centuries of art and history and many picturesque streets, squares and churches which blend into a harmonious picture of the medieval era and the Renaissance. Its rich artistic history, varied current events and the beautiful surrounding countryside make Florence one of the worlds most attractive cities.
The school is located in the historic center, in a calm street near the central train station. It occupies three stories of a 19th century building and all classrooms are well-equipped with audio-visual material. The General Italian Course option includes 20 lessons per week (4 lessons of 50 minutes per day) either in the morning or the afternoon. The Intensive Group + Individual Course option consists of 30 lessons per week; 4 lessons per day of group classes and 2 lessons per day of private lessons that are tailored to a students desires and weaknesses. The General Courses + Optional Cooking or Art Classes program combines language learning with lessons in the domain where Italy excels: art and cooking. This option requires a certain prior knowledge of Italian because the cooking and art classes are in Italian. Students should be able to understand and be able to communicate basic concepts from daily life.
The school organizes a daily activity program for participants. Students have the ability to broaden their knowledge of Italian culture, visit famous cities and towns or simply amuse themselves with their friends. The schools teachers accompany the excursions, which are designed to help students better their Italian and their knowledge of Italian culture and traditions. The school posts an activity list in its entrance hall each day
