Overview
BWSR4You is a non-profit organization that offers study abroad programs in Salzburg, Austria. We connect students attending American universities to the Austrian culture and the German language in order to actively bridge cultural gaps in today’s globalized world. The programs include historical, cultural and linguistic aspects that not only challenge the student but create skills for personal growth and the professional future. Our goal is to offer a new type of all-inclusive program to students at a reasonable cost. We also want to give students accurate information and assistance to provide a well-organized study abroad program with a personal touch. Official forms and applications are available on our website. There are two academic year programs offered, and the spring semester may be available if there are enough requests and/or enough open positions.
The Salzburg University has a wide variety of majors and minors ranging from art history to zoology. Courses are offered in English and in German. Students may also attend the world-renowned University of Music and Dramatic Arts Mozarteum.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
Academic credit is arranged by the Salzburg University and can be transferred to your home institution. U.S. institutions usually accept European grades as higher academic values when transferred. Even if you are not a foreign language major, you can contact your university’s Foreign Language or German Department for course advice about foreign grading and credits. Speak with your home campus advisor or credit coordinator to decide what courses you need and how they qualify for and transfer to your home campus. Be sure to ask your degree coordinator about Independent Study credits in case a desired course does not match to your specific degree program requirements. We can also send an e-mail to the professor of the desired course in Salzburg and ask him/her about the course contents.
Eligibility
Minimum age is eighteen years old. No minimum GPA is required, however, we recommend at least one year of college-level German or its equivalent. All accepted applicants, despite age or academic background, are required to attend the Salzburg University as full-time students.
