Overview
SAGE’s academic semester/year abroad is our flagship program, one which hundreds of students have taken part in since 1992. SAGE offers students in grades 10 through 12, plus Gap Year, the unique opportunity to spend an academic semester or year at an English speaking internationally renowned boarding school. These are not Indian schools, but international schools in India.

Whether you attend Woodstock School, set in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in North India, or Kodaikanal International School, located in the tropical hills of South India, the exceptional international curriculum allows you to receive full high school credit for all courses you take, since both schools are fully accredited in the United States. Woodstock School offers American AP courses in addition to its regular US based curriculum, while Kodaikanal School offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Both of these high caliber college prep schools offer the standard US college entrance exams as well as college counseling.

Besides academics, experiential learning is an important component to our programs. Each fall, students have the opportunity to further explore Indian culture and heritage by participating in “Activity Week”. Students choose from a variety of activities, from cultural excursions to community service projects in rural communities to back-packing into remote areas. Each SAGE school has its own environmental learning center that offers educational and leadership opportunities beyond the classroom, and both schools have active service programs where students engage in meaningful and productive community service projects in their local areas.

Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.  Both schools are accredited international boarding schools and provide transferable high school credit. Woodstock offers AP credits which may be transfered as college credits, and Kodaikanal offers IB courses.
