Overview
A 3-month journey exploring the language and culture of Guatemala, Costa Rica and Honduras. Live with native families, trek through the Guatemalan highlands, study Spanish by total immersion, build houses for the underprivileged, study spirituality and meditation through a blending of several traditions, protect endangered Caribbean sea turtles, and scuba dive on the world's second largest reef. The semester is designed to allow you to learn Spanish, make a positive contribution through service, and learn first-hand about the cultures of these countries. Fall (Sept-Dec) and Spring (Feb - May) every year. Open to ages 17 and up.
* Travel with a group of up to 12 students with two adult leaders
* Language and cultural study: one-on-one Spanish classes and homestays
* Spirituality: study for 2 weeks meditation, yoga, and spirituality in a unique blend of Indian traditions, Buddhist traditions, and indigenous traditions.
* Service: build homes for the underprivileged and work to save endangered sea turtles
* Adventure: hike in the highlands, visit colorful indigenous markets and get PADI scuba-certified in the Bay Islands. College and high school credit is available.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
College credit (up to 15 quarter or 10 semester hours) is available for each program (semesters and summer). Students have also used our programs in order to complete their high school requirements.

For ages 17 and up, and for people interested in learning about them selves and their culture through community service, cultural exchange, travel, group living, and language training. This is not a program designed to support partying...but we do have fun!
