Overview
Study intensive, elementary, intermediate and advanced Spanish at two locations in Costa Rica to fulfill your foreign language or major/minor requirements. In addition you may complement your language curriculum by taking courses in literature, political science, economics, history, art history, biology, ecology, and dance.
The academic course are only a part of the value of a semester or yearlong program. Participation in formal and informal activities, such as field trips in and around San Jose, and other partos of Costa Rica, visits to the parliament and governmental entities, field trips to both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, the rain forest, nature reserves and visits to folkloric events and village festivals, form an integral part of the programs.
Heredia is a colonial city of 80,000 nestled in the foothills above San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. Puntarenas is located on the Pacific Ocean with ferry access to the Nicoya Peninsula. Summer programs also available.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
Students receive transcript from their USAC university.

Include: Tuition; Student Health Insurance; transportation on day field trips and to orientation; transportation and hotel on overnight field trips; room and meals during orientation at local hotel; some entries to museums and cultural events; housing in homestay (summer only) .
