Overview
Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.
IES MILAN provides an outstanding opportunity to study Italian language and culture, as well as a wide range of other subjects in a centuries-old environment. As one of only a few American programs in Milan, IES offers you the opportunity to integrate fully into the life of this modern Italian big city through living, studying, and interacting daily with the native population. IES Milan offers a Beginning/Intermediate Italian program and an Advanced Italian program. The Beginning/Intermediate program is an intensive language program complemented by two to three area studies courses taught in English. Students may combine IES coursework with one or two courses at universities such as Libera Università di Lingue e Comunicazione (IULM), Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Università Bocconi (where courses are also available in English), Scuola Politecnica di Design. Music students may have private musical instruction or instruction at a number of outstanding musical institutions in Milan, such as the Civica Scuola di Musica or the Conservatorio G. Verdi.
