Overview
Located in the Okavango Delta of Botswana, the mission of the Living with Elephants Foundation is to foster a mutually beneficial relationship between the African Elephant and the people living within its range. Round River Conservation Studies working in partnership with the Living With Elephants Foundation, will assist with research questions concerning the African Elephant - Human interface in Botswana. Specifically we hope to explore the causes and impact of conflict, and study strategies aimed at resolution. Working from a remote camp in the Okavango Delta, student assistants are needed to track elephant movements, record habitat selection, monitor other wildlife activity and to participate in local community conservation-education efforts.
15 semester hours in biological and social science courses. Fall and Spring semesters.
