Overview
The waters of Bahia Magdelena host populations of whales, dolphins, sea lions, sea turtles and many economically important fisheries. Through class work, field work and extensive interactions with local residents, students will examine human/marine mammal conflicts as well as the impacts of marine mammals and increasing development on this coastal ecosystem and the local economy.
Highlights: Living and learning within the close knit community of Puerto San Carlos. Students have the opportunity to engage themselves in the environmental issues that concern this small fishing community.
