Although 25% of Costa Rica's land is legally protected, deforestation and unsustainable agriculture practices still threaten wildlife populations and natural resources. Students work with members of the local community to examine alternative methods of development which balance economic needs with ecological limitations.
Highlights: Our search to identify successful management strategies may take us to a tropical cloud forest, the Guanacaste Conservation are, the Poas Volcano, the Carara Biological Reserve and a number of other Protected Zones.
