Overview
Brockport offers a program of study at the University of Leiden for a full year, fall, or spring semester. The University of Leiden is an institution known for its high quality of education and is located less than thirty miles from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and the Hague. Visit our website for a full list of student services and program descriptions.

Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.  Participants in the Brockport program at Leiden University will normally earn 15-18 credits per semester. However, participants need to be aware that not every course carries the same credit weight, because the amount of credits awarded per class varies between, and even within, departments. In the Netherlands' university system, a credit point is awarded for one week's work (40 hours) that includes lectures, reading, written work and examinations (significant independent research is the norm). Depending on the workload, classes are assigned a credit value ranging from 2 to 8 credit points. Students who enroll in the intensive Dutch language course will receive 3 credits if the course is successfully completed as part of their academic program. The Office of International Education at Brockport can assist you in constructing a course schedule that will constitute a full-time schedule in the US.
