This is achieved through academic work combined with extensive cultural excursions and exposure to different aspects of life in this unique, African-infused region of Brazil. Academic Credit Academic credit is available.  Recommended Credit semester: 18-21 semester/27-31.5 quarter hours academic year: 33-36 semester/49.5-54 quarter hours Eligibility - Overall GPA 2.75 - 4 semesters of college-level Spanish and/or 2 semesters of college-level Portuguese or equivalent Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family Program Costs Spring 2008 - $12,200 Academic Year 2007-08 - $21,300 Calendar Year 2008 - $21,600 Costs Include:  The CIEE fees for 2007–08 include tuition, housing, two meals daily, optional on-site airport meet and greet, full-time leadership and support, orientation, cultural activities (concerts, festivals, groups meals, performances), local excursions (museum visits, one full day trip), comprehensive student handbook, pre-departure advising, in-country documents, and a CIEE iNext travel card which provides insurance and other travel benefits.
