Overview
The University of Richmond Study Abroad in Greece program is a 30 day 3 to 6 academic credit hour immersion in Greek culture, both ancient and modern. The program's focus involves the participant in a study of the ancient art, traditions, and places which have molded the modern identity of the country of Greece and have had such a pervasive influence on the modern West.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
1. A four week study program to both the Greek mainland and the islands plus an independent project. Six-credit course through the UR School of Arts and Sciences, Classics 312 and Classics 499.
2. A four week study program to both the Greek mainland and the islands. Three-credit course through the UR School of Arts and Sciences, Classics 312 .
Eligibility
There are no prerequisites.
Financial Aid
Yes.
University of Richmond students eligible for any kind of need based financial aid can apply for need related grants from the UR Office of Financial Aid. The deadline for application for such UR grants for Summer Study Abroad 2004 is March 1, 2004. (Students applying for UR financial aid must register for both Classics 312 and Classics 499.)
Other students should consult their home institutions regarding the availability of financial assistance.
Dates
Program is May 15 - June 13, 2004. It begins in Athens; participants arrange their own travel to and from Athens.
Deadlines
Due March 1, 2004 -- Application and non-refundable deposit of $150.00. Due March 20, 2004 -- one-half the balance. Due April 15, 2004 -- second half of the balance.
