Overview
Swinburne is located in Melbourne, a relaxed, friendly, multi-cultural city offering a quality of life that is definitely unique. Swinburne University of Technology is a multidiscipline, multicampus provider of higher education of national and international significance. Participants will have the opportunity to enroll in regular university classes at Swinburne University of Technology. Prior to departure, students select three courses per semester from those that are available to study abroad students at SUT in faculties of Business; Arts and Social Sciences; Computing and Information Technology; Design; Tourism; Engineering and Technology; Multimedia; and Applied Sciences. All instruction is by SUT faculty.

Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.  Study abroad students are required to take between 9 and 14 Swinburne University credit points per semester. The recommended load is 12 credit points. Most units at Swinburne are valued at either 3 or 4 credit points, which equates approximately between 12 and 16 hours of study, including class attendance, private study, library research, etc. The actual workload can vary from unit to unit and even week to week across the university.

Eligibility
Admission Requirements: A prospective participant should have: Second semester sophomore standing, or higher, by the start of the program. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). A GPA of 2.75 in an appropriate major. The demonstrated ability to do upper-division work in the subjects chosen.

Costs Include:  INCLUDES: TUITION (at SUNY and at Swinburne University in most Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences programs*), HOUSING (shared accommodation in self-catered University-leased student housing. Single supplement is $500 per semester), The acceptance deposit, Pre-departure orientation materials, advisement and counseling, On-site orientation upon arrival in Sydney and at Swinburne University, The International Student Identity Card, and Brockport's Value-Added Services.
