Overview
The University of Southern Queensland is located in Toowoomba, a city twice voted Australia's best city to live in. A low cost of living, pleasant surroundings, clean air, beautiful gardens and parks, and a safe, friendly atmosphere have all influenced this decision. Participants will have the opportunity to enroll in regular university classes at the University of Southern Queensland. Prior to departure, students select three or four courses in liberal arts areas from those available to study abroad students. All instruction is by University of Southern Queensland faculty. Participants are examined in the same manner and held to the same standards as their Australian classmates. Most courses are examined formally at the end of the semester and, in order to be awarded credit, participants must take and pass the exam at the end of the study period in question.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
Students must study a minimum of three units. Each unit is worth one (1) credit point. Students can choose units from: Arts, Creative Arts, Business Accounting, Banking, Finance, Education, Engineering & Surveying, Sciences, Computing and Health Sciences.
Study abroad students are required to take a full course load of 3-4 courses per semester. Students will select their course areas prior to their departure.
