Overview
This 3 week program, which will offered again in Summer 2003, involves one week at each of the following sites: the campus of Griffith University; Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Center; and the Townsville/Cairns region, the tropical gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. These three areas encompass coastal and mountain scenery of outstanding beauty and considerable ecological significance. At the same time, they are subject to intense pressures from residential and tourist development. As a result, they have become sites of current issues and conflicts over land and resource usage.
