Overview
Study for a semester or year at the University of Costa Rica in San Jose, Costa Rica. Take courses in any discipline offered at UCR. All course work is taught in Spanish. Program includes a month long orientation, excursions and homestays.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
University of Kansas credit is granted based on the coursework completed abroad.
Eligibility
Open to students from accredited U.S. institutions, sophomore through graduate levels. Students must have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours of course work by the time the program begins, have a strong academic record (overall B average), have proficiency in Spanish (the equivalent of 19 semester hours of college-level Spanish with a B average), have good recommendations from their instructors, and be willing and able to adapt to a different environment.

Program Costs
2007-2008 Academic Year
KU Students: Approximately $7,800 for the semester, $15,450 for the academic year.
Non-KU Students: Approximately $7,950 for the semester, $15,750 for the academic year.
Costs
Include: The program fee includes the required orientation in San Jose, room and board for the entire period, all administrative and tuition costs, field trips, group activities, student visa, and KU campus orientation.
