The goal of the Environmental Studies expedition is to provide students contact with the native people, culture and natural environments of Australia, and to examine cross-cultural meanings of the natural world. Students on the Castle Rock Institute International Expedition follow an Environmental Humanities curriculum of four 300-level courses during their semester-- one each in Philosophy, Literature, Studio Art and Religious Studies. These courses meet regularly for discussions, field excursions, special lectures and presentations.
