This program includes a host family stay, classes taught in German, cultural events, and excursions. A minimum of four semesters of college level German or the equivalent is required. Academic Credit Academic credit is available.  Nine hours of credit in German is granted by the University of Kansas upon successful completion of the program. Eligibility Completion of 4th semester college German course or equivalent (four years of high school German, etc.) Minimum 2.50 GPA required. (Exceptions considered only after submission of a petition.) Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family Program Costs Program Fee: Approximately $3,820 ($4,020 for non-KU students). The fee includes, fees, meals, lodging, travel and cultural events in Germany (including admission to museums and castles), and emergency medical evacuation and repatriation services. Tuition and Fees: Estimated tuition and fees for 9 credit hours (based on standard tuition rate): $1,753.* Graduate students will pay slightly higher tuition. *Actual expenses for KU students will vary by the student’s individual tuition compact. Non-KU students will pay the standard tuition rate listed above. Approximate total cost is the program fee plus the tuition fee. All dates, costs, and program information are subject to change as necessary due to fluctuations in the exchange rate or other reasons.
