Overview
Improve your command of the French language as you delve into Senegalese life and cultures for the academic year. You will attend classes alongside Senegalese students at the Universite Gaston Berger and learn about your surroundings through a fieldwork project. The St. Louis program offers you a unique opportunity to conduct research. In addition, you will study the most widely spoken Senegalese language, Wolof. Required pre-departure orientation sessions held at UW-Madison in September include introductory Wolof language instruction and advising on your fieldwork project.
