Program Costs
Teacher-Interns do not receive a salary during the first two-week Initial Training Programme (ITP). Although this programme is provided free of charge, participants must pay US$ 300 on arrival to cover the cost of accommodation. Please note that the standard of this accommodation is basic and will be in a shared flat. Similarly, interns should not expect western style luxuries or amenities. Teacher-Interns wishing to arrange their own accommodation during the ITP and/or thereafter may do so provided they alert Language Link’s Department of Human Resources one month in advance of their arrival or their decision to leave company-provided accommodation.

Costs Include:  Following successful completion of the Initial Training Programme, the teacher-intern receives a net monthly salary of USD 600 and a benefit package which includes company-paid income tax, company-provided accommodation, provision of medical services, holiday and sick time, full visa support, work permission and on-going academic support. Teacher-interns are also eligible for salary raises and benefits as described below. Completion of Block A: On successful completion of Block A, teacher-interns who have demonstrated exemplary performance with regard to attitude, attendance, participation, classroom observations, student satisfaction and assignment completion will be accorded a FastTrack Teacher Recognition Raise (FTRP-1) of USD 150. Thereafter the teacher-intern’s net monthly salary will be USD 750. Completion of Block B: On successful completion of Block B, teacher-interns who have continued to demonstrate exemplary performance as described above and who have satisfactorily completed the Group Project will be accorded provisional EFL teacher status and with it a second FastTrack Teacher Recognition Raise (FTRP-2) of USD 150. Thereafter the teacher-intern’s net monthly salary will be USD 900. Teacher-interns who fail to complete their Block B project satisfactorily will remain on teacher-intern status until such time as they satisfactorily complete their Block B project. Once completed and found to be satisfactory, the teacher-intern will be awarded provisional EFL Teacher Status and move up in pay grade in accordance with the FastTrack Teacher Recognition scheme effective the first day of the next calendar month. Completion of Block C: On successful completion of Block C and the Teacher-Internship Training Program, the teacher-intern (now provisionally an EFL Teacher) will be awarded a Language Link Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and with it confirmation that s/he has achieved full teacher status. Teacher-interns who traveled to Russia on single (one-way) tickets are eligible for reimbursement of this ticket as specified above and may apply the remainder of the travel allowance to their ticket home.
