Overview
Help empower children through education and compassion. Orphanage volunteers focus on educational training for the children. This training will consist primarily of English language classes. Besides teaching, the orphanages operate several creative programs. Volunteers' active participation in programs such as health education, games, drawing and painting is encouraged. With such a variety, the orphanage allows and encourages volunteers to explore a meaningful approach to service.
Every year, hundreds of children leave their poor villages and arrive in small and big cities, in search of work. Most of these children are deprived of educational and other opportunities. After coming to cities, most of them work as child laborers in restaurants, hotels, and factories. Education can empower children to challenge a life of further poverty and exploitation.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
It is the students responsibility to contact their academic advisor prior to the internship to ensure that they can receive credit for it at their home institution.
