Overview
Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.
IES Christchurch offers direct enrollment at the University of Canterbury, an institution of 12,500 students. Offering courses spread across the Faculties of arts, commerce, education, engineering, fine arts, forestry, law, music and science, the University of Canterbury offers particularly strong and unique offerings in engineering, forestry, ecology, Antarctic studies, astronomy, film studies, zoology, and inter-disciplinary studies in diplomacy, international relations and peace studies. Seven field stations throughout the island are also available for research study.
