Overview
The Study Abroad Program in the Dominican Republic is a cultural immersion program that consists of Spanish classes, Dominican and Caribbean Culture and History course, Comparative Caribbean Literature course, and a Directed Indendent Study Course in the major.
Instruction is provided at the Santo Domingo campus of Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra. The FAMU Study Abroad Center provides personalized support services to students enrolled in the semester (summer, fall and spring)program.
Students residence with hosts families who live in close proximity to the urban PUCCM campus in the capital city of Santo DOmingo. Cultural excursions throughout the Caribbean country enhance the classroom experiences
