Overview
Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.
IES Nagoya students directly enroll in Nanzan Universitys (Nanzan Daigaku) Center for Japanese Studies (CJS). Students take intensive Japanese language instruction complemented by area studies courses taught in English, including courses in the humanities and social sciences as well as hands-on instruction in Japanese studio arts. If you have particularly advanced language skills, you may take seminars taught in Japanese. The CJS is housed in the daini kenkyuutoo (the Second Research Building) on Nanzan Universitys campus.
