Overview
The KEI Science, Math and Engineering Research Program at the University of Tasmania allows students to concentrate their studies in: physics, astronomy, chemistry, zoology, botany, ecology, marine biology, environment, computer science, math, engineering, and in other subjects offered at UTAS' Faculty of Science and Engeering. Students enroll in 4 courses (worth 4 credits each) each semester; 3 of the "SMER" core courses are required. Students receive 16 credits per semester. The program also includes research internship placement, which is highly recommended.
Professional visits, local excursions in Tasmania, and a 10-day excursion to Sydney and Melbourne are included in the program. The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is one of Australia's oldest and most respected universities, and is particularly well known for science and technology. UTAS is located in Hobart -- the beautiful, safe, and peaceful capital of Tasmania, Australia's island state.
