Overview
Founded in the liberal arts tradition, St. Michaels University School (SMUS), one of Canada’s leading Independent day and boarding schools, is a university preparatory school dedicated to developing the full potential of all of its students. It therefore offers programmes, which help students to develop in all areas: academics, athletics, the arts, the outdoors, leadership and service to the community. SMUS is a community of learners who believe that intellectual growth takes place best in an environment where the character and self also grow; our focus is the whole child.
The I.S.P.Y. – International Summer Programme for Youth continues to support this tradition and offers a wide section of fun, educational, and developmental programmes for youth 11-17 years of age. Course offerings include such programmes as English as a Second Language, English as a Second Language and Golf Academy, English Writing Workshop, West Coast Eco Adventure, and other academically focused programmes.
Every summer students from over 15 different countries join for a period of 3-6 weeks to see, experience, and study aspects of Canada’s west coast language and culture.
