You will become an English as a Foreign Language teaching assistant, teaching English to a variety of students. While you are teaching, you will have the opportunity to live with an Argentine family and become a true member of that family. You may also be given the opportunity to take courses at the local university and go on a variety of scheduled field trips and social activities to help you get to know the country and its people. Whether you’re just starting to learn a language or have been studying one for some time, there is no greater way to improve your skills than be living in the country where it is spoken. When you learn a language on location, the whole country becomes your classroom. We recommend that if you do not speak Spanish at an intermediate level that you take the language option offered prior to staring your teaching program. The supplement language class is an intensive, 30 hour a week program located in Buenos Aires. You will be offered a one-on-one, tailor made Spanish course just for you. During the week you will spend 6 hours a day learning Spanish, and in the evenings you can practice it with your host family or when you are out on the town. Eligibility Must be able to get a tourist visa in Argentina. Must be at least 18 years of age. You must have finished high school, though university graducates are preferred. You must be a native English speaker. Do not need teaching certificate, though teaching experience is helpful. Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family Program Costs $1500 Costs Include:  Teaching placement prior to departure, room and board while at placement, in-country orientation, airport pick up, hotel stay your night of arrival, one way bus ticket to host community and local support in country.
