Overview
CINECU offers academic year, semester, and summer study abroad programs in Sevilla, Spain in conjunction with the University of Seville and EUSA. CINECU is located a short distance from the historical center of Seville in the modern facilities of EUSA, which include a computer lab equipped for internet access, a library, study/lounge areas, and sports facilities.
Two study courses are offered..The Studies in Language and Culture (SLC) program is intended for students who have completed four semesters of college Spanish or the equivalent. Courses in advanced language are combined with courses in culture, art, history and literature, as well as a specialized course on Spanish for the Professions. In order to allow students to progress linguistically as they take more advanced courses, the semester is divided into two seven-week modules for language and literature classes.
All courses are taught in Spanish, consist of 45 or 60 contact hours of instruction, and carry three or four semester hours of credit. Students will earn 12-17 semester credits from the current offerings.
The Advanced University Studies (AUS) semester or year program is open to students who have completed an advanced grammar and composition course (or equivalent beyond second year college spanish). The diversity of the course offerings will also accommodate students who have completed one or more courses beyond advanced grammar and composition as well as bilingual students who wish to extend their knowledge of Hispanic culture and society. All students will enroll in an intensive three-week language and culture course at CINECU before classes start at the University of Seville.
