Overview
Gaia ESL Environmental Retreats offers a unique English Language vacation of discovery and adventure. Our two-week program combines English language instruction with social, cultural and outdoor recreational activities.
Study English in a beautiful retreat setting in the Columbia Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. The area is famous for its pristine lakes, glacier-capped mountains, cascading waterfalls and alpine meadows. The surrounding wilderness is home to wildlife such as bears, deer, mountain goats and elk.
Each two-week program combines English classes with the study of environmental issues facing the planet today.The focus of each program is to promote social responsibility and encourage individuals to become active global citizens.
You will stay in a beautiful and safe retreat setting which is a scenic drive from the major centres in western Canada and the northwestern United States. The program includes twelve days accommodation and meals at Tara Shanti Lodge on the east shore of beautiful Kootenay Lake. One day will be spent at an organic farm where you will have the opportunity to practice organic gardening techniques. The last two nights accommodation will be spent at the Dancing Bear Inn in Nelson, British Columbia. Nelson has been ranked as the number one small town arts community in Canada.

Adults eighteen (18) years and older with some previous English language experience

Costs
Include: Transportation to and from Spokane, Washington, or alternatively transportation to and from Castlegar Airport, accommodation and most meals

*During your stay in Nelson, you will be responsible for your meals
