Overview
Maya Exploration Center is a non-profit research and education center offering intensive study abroad short courses in Maya studies to college level students. Based in Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico, Maya Exploration Center offers a range of courses throughout the year covering multiple topics in Maya studies including Archaeology, Anthropology, Ancient Maya Sciences, Archaeoastronomy, Ethnogrophy, Geography, Art History, and more. While Palenque serves as the base site for the programs, students visit multiple ruins including Yaxchilan, Bonampak and others depending on the course. The courses are lead by a team of scholars and researchers currently working in the field.
