Overview
At The Art Institute of Vancouver - Dubrulle International Culinary Arts, we believe an education in the creative and applied arts should be hands on and practical, not to mention inspiring. It should prepare you for opportunities in the workplace as it gives your ideas and talent a place to take shape.
We offer a creative stimulating environment where you can learn what it takes to launch your career in the fields of culinary arts and hospitality. You’ll learn with experienced faculty who practice what they preach, in interesting careers inside and outside of our classrooms. You’ll be exposed to a curricula that’s relevant, thanks to the input of major employers with whom we work.
We’re conveniently located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. At our campus, you’ll find a creative environment designed to bring out your best. Our location features three industrial kitchens as well as a student-run 40 seat restaurant to hone the skills of budding chefs.
Eligibility
To apply for admission into The Art Institute of Vancouver – Dubrulle International Culinary Arts, students must submit an application form with a with a $100application fee and $50 assessment fee. Submission packages must also include official transcripts from all recently attended secondary and post-secondary schools and a self-authored 250-word typed essay on career goals and how an education at The Art Institute will help you attain those goals.
The Art Institute of Vancouver – Dubrulle International Culinary Arts also requires proof of medical insurance valid for use in British Columbia for the duration of the program of study as well as submit a negative test result for Tuberculosis and a doctor’s note certifying that the applicant is in good health.
English is the language of instruction at The Art Institute of Vancouver – Dubrulle International Culinary Arts. Students, regardless of country of origin or citizenship, are required to demonstrate competence in the English language prior to admission. All ESL applicants are required to submit with their application proof of their English competency corresponding to a minimum score of 480 (on the paper-based TOEFL or 157 on the computer-based TOEFL), and to complete a personal interview (or telephone interview) prior to acceptance.

Classes start in January, April, July and October each year.
