Overview
BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) is a 4 year program organised according to City University’s syllabus. All courses are taught in English. Successful graduates will receive BSBA diplomas from this university. In the very near future we are planning international exchange programs. Students can also study the modules individually i.e. only take up one or two modules without gaining the full diploma. Associate Degree holders may also transfer credits to complete a bachelor degree in two years.
The Institute of Finance and Administration is modern, dynamic and also the largest private institution of higher education in the Czech Republic (2 500 students). Since 2001 VSFS has had study center in Prague, Most and Kladno. Accredited university diplomas are offered there following high quality programs and courses. Bachelor and Masters programs taught in Czech and English as well as continuing life-long education aimed at civil servants, managers and entrepreneurs alike.
The program offers convenient flexible educational formats where students are encouraged to work as well as study. The academic year is divided into trimesters with three subjects taught per trimester. Weekday students can expect 3 hours of classes per subject per week. Weekend studies begin on Fridays afternoon at 2pm and follow on Saturdays and Sundays for a total of 20 hours a week. In-class instructions are combined with self-study. Length of self-study varies from student to student depending largely on the student’s prior knowledge of the subject. Emphasis is on practical examples, case studies and seminars, work in small groups and class discussions. Studies include presentations, midterm and final exams. Firstly, the program schedule gives the students basic insight into business administration. Modules also include oral and written communication for managers, micro and macro economics or introduction to statistics and composition. Following the basics are specialized courses such as fundamentals of accounting, database management and courses targeted at the Czech and European Law. The upper division of the program gives the students an in-depth insight into business administration with modules such as approaches to critical thinking, interpreting statistics and data, effective organization, global economics and others. Students will be taught by top quality teaching staff, mainly native speakers but also top Czech professors accredited by City University commission.
