Overview
Discover the Mitad del Mundo, the middle of the world...Ecuador. From the high mountain colonial capital of Quito, to remote villages deep in the tropical jungle, to the magnificent shores of the Galapagos islands, the incredible diversity of Ecuador will astound you. You can enjoy hiking immense volcanos, uncover the mysteries of the Amazon jungle, and experience the rich culture of the indigenous groups at the local markets. Ecuador, located at the center of the planet, is truly one of South America's most enchanting and undiscovered regions.
Students will be given an orientation upon arrival in Ecuador. Local agents will serve as a liaison to the students throughout the program. Ecuadorian society is very family oriented and students are likely to experience the benefit of living in a close-knit family unit.
Students will be given the opportunity to participate in excursions around Ecuador in order to explore the various ecological wonders of the country, for example the rain forest and the Galapagos Islands. Prices for these trips are not included in the program price. More detailed information on the excursions is provided once students are on program.
