Founded in 1956, this non-profit Canadian co-ed school provides the unique combination of academics in the centre of Europe, French language exposure, residency in a local Swiss home, and an enriching travel program. The academic program follows the guidelines of the Ontario Ministry of Education's Grade 12 University Prep courses and the College Board's Advanced Placement (AP) program. A variety of programs including international service projects, internship, and Model United Nations are central to increasing students' sense for global responsibility and international understanding. Neuchatel Junior College is a member of the Canadian Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and the Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS). Academic Credit Academic credit is available.  Ontario Grade 12 and Advanced Placement credits Eligibility Students attend NJC for their final year of high school or for a post-graduate, enrichment year upon completion of high school. Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family The College matches all students with their host family; host families have long-standing relationships with the College. Program Costs For the 2005/2006 academic year the tuition and accommodation fees are as follows: Full year 36,200 Swiss Francs Semester only 20,200 Swiss Francs Costs Include:  Tuition and accommodation fees, international guest speaker series, university/career seminars and workshops, residence permit, accident insurance, local transportation pass, technology use, limited selecton of day trips and outdoor/sporting activities, yearbook, and seasonal banquets. Financial Aid Yes. Four 2,000 Swiss Franc merit scholarships. Dates The College operates on a semestered basis. The fall semester runs from September through the end of January. The spring semester runs from February through the end of June.
