Overview
Unique and affordable opportunity to earn up to 18 credits for semesters and 6 (or 3) for Summer programs. Upper division courses. Experience Florence and immerse yourself in Italian culture. High academic standards and individual attention. Students choose up to 6 interdisciplinary courses per semester and 2 (or 1) for Summer programs from the following fields of study: Liberal Studies/Humanitites; Art History/Architecture/Studio Arts; Business/Economics; History/Political Science/Sociology; Italian Language/Italian Studies.
NECA works with an academic priority and is able to offer small group courses and individual attention. NECA is an accredited academic institution not an agency nor a study abroad provider. Students will be completely immersed in Florentine and Italian lifestyle and will be offered off-the-beaten-path excursions. Scholarship funds are available for all programs. Students earn credits through Daemen College, NY.

Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
The transcript is included in the cost for students who study in the USA and Canada, and it is mailed by Daemen College, NY, USA, directly to the students' home institution.
Eligibility
To be eligible participants must have completed two semesters of college or the equivalent and be at least 18 years of age.
For Special Enrollments (students at their freshmen year, recent high school graduates, or non-traditional students) NECA should first contact them and talk to them to understand if they are suitable to study abroad.
Selection is based on academic achievement as well as seriousness of purpose and individual stability and maturity. The GPA (Grade Point Average) is important and it is requested on the on-line application form, but it is not the only issue taken into consideration. NECA also considers other factors to understand if a student meets certain requirements, both academic and non, to study abroad.

Students have the following options at an additional cost:
-board with a family with breakfast and dinner Monday through Friday.
-a single room (limited availability, both for family home stay and apartment).

The NECA Scholarship Program has been developed to assist students (enrolled in 2-year or 4-year institutions) and Adults with academic merit and/or that do not have enough resources. NECA is dedicated to making study abroad accessible to all students.
To apply for a scholarship applicants should send NECA their on-line application from the NECA website and a 200-word essay stating why they want to study in Italy.
