A) Spanish Immersion Program at Nur University
Class schedule possibilities range from 6-30+ hours weekly. You can come for any amount of weeks and start at any time. Emphasis is placed on familiarizing the student with Latin American culture and specifically that of Bolivia. Class size will rarely exceed five students.
Nur University’s Spanish Immersion Program gives students the chance to be conversation partners with Bolivians studying English at its Language Center. Few other Spanish language schools provide their students with such great opportunities to interact with local university students.
B) Interning or Volunteering Through Nur University
It is due to Nur’s extensive experience with service-oriented organizations and local communities that a meaningful internship or volunteer opportunity can be created for international students in such activities as: community development, conflict resolution, moral and youth leadership, municipal government strengthening, public health, and teacher training. Nur University also works with many indigenous communities in activities like community strategic planning and educational program development.
C) One-Term / Two-Term / 12-Month Study Abroad
This program is for university credit and is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who possess at least intermediate-level Spanish skills. You may enter the program for any of the three terms listed above regardless of the number of semesters chosen.
D) Six-Week Summer Study Abroad
This study abroad session is also available for university credit. It runs from the end of June to early August and features 4 weeks of intensive Spanish classes (64 class hours total, 4 credits), a 2-credit course in Leadership and Development (taught in English), a number of other special seminars, and travel around Bolivia.
Housing/Meals (Options A through D)
Students may choose between Bolivian homestays with breakfast and lunch included or independent living. Homestay host families are carefully selected and matched with each student’s preferred living environment.
