Most students at NYU in Ghana will complete half of their course work at the NYU Center, studying with NYU professors or Ghanaian scholars teaching within the NYU program. Courses revolve around four main areas: Film, Literature, and Culture; Journalism, Communications, and the Media; the Social Sciences; and History.
For the rest of their course work, students take courses directly at the University of GhanaLegon and at Ashesi University with students from those universities. Widely recognized as one of the top institutions of higher education in West Africa, the University of Ghana-Legon is Ghanas flagship university.
Hundreds of courses and a full range of academic programs are available with particular strengths in African studies, the social sciences, and the performing arts.
