Students typically receive 12-18 credits for a semester; 3-6 credits for a summer session. Most classes are taught in English, though many are taught in Italian. Italian language and intensive Italian programs are taught at all levels, from beginning to advanced.
API students in Florence who are interested in a liberal and studio arts program can study at The Lorenzo de'Medici School (LDM). LDM offers students a wide selection of courses such as Italian, international business, humanities, liberal arts, and numerous studio arts disciplines.
API students in Rome can study at the Lorenzo de'Medici School (LDM) in Rome, or at the John Cabot University (JCU). LDM Rome features newly renovated facilities conveniently located in the historic center of Rome. A variety of courses are available in Italian language, liberal arts, studio arts and social sciences. A fully accredited American university, JCU offers students a comprehensive liberal arts education with a variety of undergraduate courses in subjects such as Italian language, studio arts, international business, communications, history, science, and much more.
API students in Syracuse will study at the Mediterranean Center for Arts and Sciences (MCAS). All coursework is conducted with a focus on the Mediterranean culture and history of the area, and courses include archaeology, geology, environmental studies, and marine science, art, classics, politics, drama, Italian, social and religious studies, and more. Quarter, semester, summer and year terms are available.
API students in Tuscania will study at the Lorenzo de'Medici School (LDM) - Tuscania. The school is situated in the old town center and is physically incorporated into the stone medieval walls. Topics include archaeology, humanities, studio and liberal arts, media studies and Italian language and culture.
API students now have the opportunity to study at the new Lorenzo de'Medici School (LDM) in Venice! LDM Venice, in affiliation with Instituto Venezia, offers students an opportunity to study in an historic setting, covering liberal and studio arts, with an emphasis on Italian language and on the rich artistic resources of Venice.
Finally, API students have the option of exploring 3 of Italy's most interesting cities in one program - the API 3 Cities Program with the Lorenzo de'Medici School. API students can trace the roots of Western culture through stints in Tuscania, Rome, and Florence or Venice.
