Overview
ProArtInternational is an educational and volunteer service organization that provides High School and College students, safe, economical travel, study, and volunteer opportunities in Central and South America. Students can travel, enroll for a semester or more at a local college, university, or language program, and even volunteer their time to not for profit organizations, environmental centers, and community out reach programs, all while immersing themselves in the amazing and beautiful culture of Central and South America.
Each program is a customized arrangement according to each student's specific goals and interests in travel, study, or language based on their interests, academic direction, and volunteer experience.
Our College programs run like normal college semesters for Fall, Spring, and Summer; volunteer programs can run for 6 weeks to one-year periods. We also offer Spring Break, Winter Intersession (January) and yearlong college programs, which can combine language study, travel, and volunteer work, are available.
Our Individual High School programs run during the Summer for 4 to 6 weeks, semester and yearlong programs are also available. We also offer High School Group Language Study Abroad and Volunteer Service projects and programs.
University and Language Immersion Programs
ProArtInternational programs work with various universities in Central and South America; we have a growing network with universities and colleges in Central and South America. ProArtInternational works to help each students select the proper coursework for their degree, register for the university and/or language program of their choice, and help them throughout the semester. Spanish language programs can be taken for college credit and in conjunction with college courses.
Language Immersion Programs
The way to make the most of an experience abroad is to be immersed in the culture of the host country. Language immersion programs can count towards college credit, courses range from 6 weeks to one year, language courses can also be taken in conjunction with college courses.
In addition to class instruction, ProArtInternational offers a variety of extra-curricular activities to extend their language skills beyond the classroom. By practicing Spanish both inside and outside the classroom, students will have an opportunity to meet native Central and South American Spanish speakers and gain confidence and proficiency in their language skills.
These activities include, weekend trips and opportunities to see and experience the amazing natural beauty that is Central and South America. Not only can you experience nature to its fullest but we also take you to some of the trendiest night clubs, restaurants, as well as theater, movie, and, special VIP entrances to concerts and A-list events. What a better way to practice your Spanish than parting the night away! ProArtInternational on-site staff is present at all times and some restrictions may apply.
We also offer help in acquiring intern positions or part-time work where you can practice your Spanish. You can intern or work at TV Stations, Newspapers, Magazines, Hotels, Tour/ Travel Agencies, Day Care Centers, Language Institutes, Hospitals, Stores, Restaurants/ Bars/Night Clubs, and others. This program requires a separate application and one can be issued upon request after your acceptance into the program.
Volunteer and Ecological Service Programs
ProArtInternational Volunteer Service Programs aim to challenge young people to open their hearts and minds to the importance of volunteering abroad. We encourage all students to get involved in the creative organization of volunteer service programs and projects for the many organizations that are in need of willing volunteers. We want each student to witness what their help can do, how even a little of their time, can make an enormous impact.
Students can volunteer teach in after school programs in painting, drawing, arts-n-crafts, music, theater, photography, English, to underprivileged children. We have a special program in the Republic of Panama where students can work with the Parque Natural Metropolitano in Panama City to help plant trees, participate in animal rescues, and other preservation activities. Also in the Republic of Panama students can participate in an art and/or language exchange program with Kuna, Guaymis (Ngφbι-Buglι), Emberα, and/or Wounaan Tribes, a beautiful service project where students and tribe members exchange the teaching of an art form/craft or language.
