For the DuocUC program WorldTeach volunteers teach English to upper-elementary or high school students in public schools. In addition to classroom responsibilities, volunteers prepare lessons and activities, hold office hours, and often lead extracurricular activities. For the Ministry program WorldTeach volunteers teach English to students in primary or secondary public and semi-private schools in two small to medium-sized towns. Volunteers live with host families and receive a monthly stipend of from the Ministry of Education to cover basic living costs. The eleven month programs runs from mid-February through mid-December. WorldTeach provides a month-long training and orientation program. Program fee includes international round-trip airfare, health insurance, and meals and accommodations while in country. Eligibility Participants must be native English speakers and hold a bachelor's degree. Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family Program Costs The cost for participants is $2800. Financial Aid Yes. WorldTeach programs may qualify for international fellowships and travel funds awarded by colleges, universitites, and other educational institutions. Applicants are encouraged to to check with their schools and other educational institutions for eligibility. Dates The program runs for eleven months, DuocUC runs from mid-February through mid-December, Ministry runs from mid-March through late-November.
