Overview
Initaliano is a practical Italian language and culture course that focuses on conversation which is held in the Marche and in Umbria during the summer period.
The courses of Initaliano focus on the “real language” and give the student the possibility, each moment of each day, to directly test his ability to communicate, helped, both during and after the lesson hours, by the experience of the rigorously mother-tongue Italian teacher.
By using this type of approach the curiosity, the contribution of the student and his active participation will not only be necessary, but indispensable.
For many students, the passage from theory to practise, that is to say the capacity to be able to communicate, remains the biggest obstacle. Thanks to the practical approach the difference between knowing the language and being able to use it becomes trivial and learning becomes a pleasant and natural process. A language is not only learnt with the mind, but also with the heart.
The Italian language and culture courses organised by Initaliano are held in the summer months from May to October with a pause during the month of August and foresee two different levels per week. In the months of May and July the courses will be held in a country house near the historical city of Gubbio (Umbria), whilst in the months of June and September, the courses will be held in a country house near a small medieval town, Apecchio.
The courses are planned for small groups (minimum3, maximum 6 students) and one may choose one or two week duration. The lessons are held in the morning, 3 hours a day – 15 hours per week, whilst in the afternoons the students may take advantage of everything Italy has to offer, nature, culture and cuisine.
So as to make the stay more pleasant, Initaliano has chosen, as accommodation and location where the lessons are to be held, two country houses immersed in lush greenery. The chosen country houses are framed by incredible scenery and both have a swimming pool and all the comforts.
In Gubbio, alongside the Italian language and culture course, Initaliano organises, this year, a cookery course while in Apecchio excursions will be organised to the places of major historical and cultural interest.
This year for the first time, Initaliano organizes a course of the Italian language and culture in Urbino reserved for those who wish to take a closer look at Italian art and culture, in particular that extraordinary historical period that is the Renaissance. The privileged spot chosen by Initaliano for this ‘incursion’ in the Renaissance culture is Urbino. A city-symbol of the Renaissance period, Urbino is a small architectural jewel situated in the heart of the hills of the Marche. The course is divided in five meetings of three hours each; it includes three lessons of theory enriched by audiovisual support and two guided visits to the main places of interest of Urbino.
