Overview
Bypass the hassles and stresses of Tokyo by studying in the dynamic Kyoto/Osaka area, while you also explore the fascinating sights of Kobe, Nara, and other cities in Kansai. Come for a semester, a year or for our 'gap year'-- a pre-college enrichment program. Before you arrive in Japan, school staff will help you design a program tailored to your needs. Teacher mentors, students, and your host family ease the transition into all things Japanese.
Along with intensive Japanese and English study, stimulating and demanding courses jump-start an international career at NGOs, the UN, or corporations. Adventure, cultural, and sports clubs in areas such as anime, computer graphics, dance, drama, music, Japanese flower arrangement, and Japanese archery (Kyudo) help you learn new talents or improve current ones. Language clubs in Chinese, French, German, Korean, Spanish, and Russian, all led by native speakers, dramatically expand language abilities.
A unique volunteer component in Kansai and nearby Asian countries provides a rich, stimulating opportunity to contribute to people who can't always easily speak for themselves. Girls between 15 and 19 with at least six months study of Japanese are invited to apply.
