Overview
WorldTeach volunteers in Guyana have the opportunity to teach a range of subjects, from science to English to physical education, at public high schools throughout Guyana. Sites range from deep riverrain hinterlands to savannas to urban areas. The WorldTeach Guyana program requires an 11-month commitment. Volunteers will depart for Guyana in early August and return in July. Volunteers receive a monthly stipend of about $225 to cover basic living expenses. WorldTeach provides orientation and training. Program fee includes international roundtrip airfare, health insurance, and meals and accommodations while in country.
Eligibility
Volunteers must be native English speakers and hold a bachelor's degree.
