Overview
Hellenic Society Paideia is a non profit organization, whose mission is to promote education of the Greek language, culture and history. The organization works with multiple universities, establishes sister cities and organizes several summer and full semester study abroad programs in Greece.
Paideia Study Abroad programs are offered in Thessaloniki and Rhodes in collaboration with Aristotle University, University of Macedonia, and Aegean University. The 2005 summer programs are offered in Thessaloniki, Dion, Sparta, Ikaria, Mytilini, and Rhodes in Intermediate Classical and Modern Greek, Culture, Oceanography, History and Archeology of Greece. The programs include summer concerts, guided field trips, and excursions to museums, galleries, churches and theaters.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
All credits earned overseas in an official PAIDEIA program are recorded as direct credits with the universities sponsoring them.
Fall and Spring programs are full time only with minimum of 12 credits per semester.
All courses are taught by Greek University professors.

Program Costs
Summer programs cost: The program fee is $1,200, $1,800 for three and six week programs, respectively, which includes tuition, housing, meals, orientation, cultural activities, local excursions and field trips, accident and emergency insurance, the International Student Identity Card, and a nonrefundable $395 fee for registration through the University of Connecticut.
Additional estimated costs include $1,100 for round-trip airfare , $700 for personal expenses and $100 for textbooks. The Hellenic Society Paideia offers scholarships to qualified students. Applications are available online.
Fall/Spring cost of the program for the 2004 - 2005 academic years is $6,000 per semester, which covers tuition, and course fees, room and board and various student activities. It does not include personal expenses and transportation to and from the teaching location. Scholarships are available and applications are on the web site http://www.paideiaonline.org

Scholarships are available to qualified students. Applicaiton forms are mailed to students with their acceptance letters.
Dates
Summer programs start from May 16 thorugh June 26, June 1 through July 12, July 1, to July 21, and Juoy 22 to August 12.
Fall programs start from September through December, Spring Programs from January through May.
