If you’re a student that is serious about perfecting your Japanese while having a great time in Tokyo the KCP Program is an affordable and challenging opportunity. It’s offered 5 times a year during Fall, Winter, and Spring terms or you can choose one of our 2 popular Summer programs. And, in only 11-weeks you can learn over 1 year of university-level Japanese-language proficiency through total immersion in Japan’s language and culture. Federal and State Financial Aid, scholarships. Dates Semester Program: The semester program covers about 3 months of learning time, coinciding roughly with dates for United States college semesters. The summer program is the same length as the semester program. If you’re interested in a shorter summer program, see Summer Short-term Program. Extended Programs: One of the results of full immersion at KCP is: the longer students stay, the more profound their  command of Japanese. The Spring and Fall 6-month extended programs offer the opportunity for a more intense exploration of Japan. This is ideal for students who: • want more exposure • are interested in working part-time while in Japan • want to explore working in Japan for a while after their KCP term. Academic Year Program: Academic year programs run from approximately October through June. Summer Short Term Program: KCP added this program recently to provide a summer program in Japan with a schedule more convenient for students attending universities in the U.S. Because the program has met with such great enthusiasm from students and recent college graduates alike, we have decided to continue it. Important enhancements to the program include more language instruction, exciting new excursions, cultural activities, and a lower cost. The summer short-term program differs from the summer program because the normal summer program is the same duration as a semester. The summer program is short enough to fit between the academic year of most colleges.
