Overview
Ecuador is one of those rare destinations in the world that seems to have the right combination of natural beauty, intriguing history, and vibrant culture. Nestled along the Equator in the northwest corner of the South American continent, much of the country still remains wild and uncharted. It is a home to the highest active volcano in the world, pristine Pacific beaches, and virgin tropical rainforests as well as ancient Incan history now echoed through the lively Ecuadorian culture.
Join World Endeavors for an affordable and unique internship opportunity in Ecuador. A wide variety of internships are available including international business, marketing, public relations, sports management, graphic design, education, social work, architecture and landscape architecture, city planning, environmental studies, and cuisine.
Many of the internships are one-of-a-kind, such as our event-coordination internship. Interns are needed to coordinate public speaking engagements for world leaders and celebrities visiting Ecuador. Another internship includes projects with the Central Bank of Ecuador, the government institution that defines monetary policy for the nation.
In addition to an incredible internship, all programs of one month or longer include Spanish language training during the first two weeks. Several excursions are also included to help familiarize participants with the city, the surrounding area, and the Ecuadorian culture. Excursions may include visits to volunteer projects, festivals, city tours, river tours, social events, museum tours, and beach visits.
Participants will find ample opportunities to become immersed in Latin American life throughout their experience in Guayaquil. In addition to the internship, participants will have the chance to join a unique cultural exchange program that allows them to exchange an hour of Spanish language tutoring from a Ecuadorian student for an hour of conversation in English. In addition, several cultural activities and excursions are organized for the intern such as visits to the market, tourist attractions, city tours, river tours, a visit to the beach and sporting events. This is a great way to help participants begin to integrate more into the Ecuadorian society while making friends and having fun.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
It is the students responsibility to contact their academic advisor prior to the internship to ensure that their home institution will give them credit for their international internship.
