Location:
Guayaquil and rural Ecuador - Ecuador
Overview
Volunteer with World Endeavors near the beautiful southern Pacific coast of Ecuador. Through any one of several volunteer projects, participants have the opportunity to make a direct positive impact on the people of Ecuador. Projects include teaching children, orphanage assistance, street children assistance, special education, social welfare, environmental conservation, and wildlife conservation.
Ecuador’s vibrant culture, dense rainforests, breathtaking Andean landscapes, and picturesque beaches make it the premier destination in South America. Despite the universal appeal of the country, most citizens live below the poverty level. While significant improvements have been made in recent years to improve living conditions, social services, education, and environmental protection efforts there is still a great deal to be done.
Participants will enjoy the natural beauty of Ecuador through several exciting excursions, which are included in the volunteer program. Specific excursions vary. Some examples are a Boat Tour of the Guayas River, Visit to nature and wildlife reserves, Guayaquil City Tour, and visits to the beach. Volunteers can also choose to participate in optional excursions such as whale-watching from the Isla de La Plata, a trip to the Amazon Rainforest, a trip to the Galapagos Islands, and a trip to Quito, the capitol city.
