Overview
The Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti was formed in 1980 by a group of internationally known and renowned Italian artists. The word "nuova" which means new was intended to indicate our innovative spirit geared towards experimental manual skills and design
The School is located on a reformed 19th century industrial complex campus in the canals district of the City of Milan close to the city centre and all entertainment and nightlife
The NABA curriculum puts equal emphasis on the cultural, theoretical and practical aspects in its approach to study and in the workshop sessions, just as it does in the Academies all over the world with which we work daily through teacher and student exchanges.
With regards to the specific nature of their studies, and with the help of the Academy and Coordinators within each school, the third year students are encouraged to carry out a "stage" for at least three months in agencies, studios, workshops, companies, galleries, textile factories, showrooms…. These are high quality internships which often turn into concrete job opportunities.
Studying at NABA means studying in Milan, a recognised capital of fashion, advertising, publishing, design and applied arts. And studying in Milan means immediately getting a headstart in the world of work: in the "new professions", for which NABA conscientiously prepares its students so that no graduate will find him or herself unemployed. .
All NABA's 3 -year courses are fully legally recognised by the Minsister of Education, University and Research (MIUR). At the end of the academic course, having passed all the necessary exams and having presented a thesis, students are awarded the “Academic Diploma”, fully legally valid (for state exams, teaching and some professional exams). The Academic Diploma is equivalent in all EU countries to the diploma of HIGHER EDUCATION, is equivalent to the BACHELOR OF ARTS Honours and gives graduates right of access to the European Degree Courses for the diploma of Master of Arts (M.A. Honours) and also qualifies them to do a PhD in Arts Universities across Europe and in countries outside Europe which have a bilateral agreement with Italy on recognition of academic qualifications
Short adhoc courses and summer courses for groups and individuals are also available.
