CELT runs regular workshops for some of the best known foreign language centres in Greece and is the official training institution running courses for EUROPALSO (the local Association of Foreign Language School Owners). To date, it has trained more that 2,000 Foreign Language teachers, directors of studies and administrators and has worked with the private as well as the state school sector. The Certificate in TEFL Course: The CELT Athens Certificate Course in TEFL is a highly practical programme introducing teachers without previous training and/or experience to the principles and techniques of teaching and learning a foreign language. No classroom teaching experience is required for acceptance on this course although a high level of English is expected. The course aims to provide participants with a solid foundation for effective teaching and further professional development. On completing this course, participants are expected to be able to prepare and teach lessons based on their assigned coursebook as well as to be able to adapt and supplement it for the benefit of their learners where appropriate.
